Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft Tissue Treatment at Regain Rehab
What is Soft Tissue Treatment?
Soft tissue treatment involves the assessment and rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries that cause pain, restricted movement, and impaired function. Soft tissues include muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia. At Regain Rehab, our expert physiotherapists and registered massage therapists use a variety of advanced soft tissue treatments tailored to your condition.
Types of Soft Tissue Treatments We Offer:
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are tight, irritable knots in the muscles that can cause localized or referred pain. Our physiotherapists and RMTs apply deep pressure using their fingers, thumbs, or elbows to release these knots, relieve pain, reduce muscle spasms, and improve mobility.
Deep Transverse Friction Massage
This technique helps break down scar tissue, improve circulation, and enhance healing in ligaments, tendons, and muscles. It is highly effective for chronic injuries and overuse conditions.
Heat Therapy
For chronic injuries, heat therapy increases blood flow, promotes healing, and relaxes muscles. Our therapists use hot towels, heat packs, and therapeutic gels to relieve tension and discomfort.
Cold Therapy (Cryotherapy)
For acute injuries and inflammation, cold therapy helps reduce swelling, numb pain, and prevent further tissue damage. We use ice packs, cold sprays, and compression wraps to accelerate recovery.
Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy stimulates muscle function, nerve response, and healing using:
✔ Ultrasound therapy – Reduces deep tissue inflammation
✔ TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) – Blocks pain signals
✔ Interferential therapy – Helps with chronic pain relief
✔ NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) – Strengthens weakened muscles
Stretching Techniques
We incorporate both static and dynamic stretching to improve flexibility, increase muscle length, and enhance joint mobility. These techniques help prevent injuries and improve functional movement.
Muscle Energy Techniques (Hold-Relax Stretching)
This specialized technique involves active stretching and isometric contractions to relieve tightness, improve joint mobility, and enhance flexibility.
